Clive Christian’s Original Collection is where the house made its name – it’s the line that introduced No 1, X and 1872, three fragrances built without regard for cost and presented in hand-finished crystal. 1872 for Men opens with a citrus rush of petitgrain, lime, grapefruit and mandarin orange, brightened further by pineapple and cut with pepper and nutmeg. Clary sage, tagetes and jasmine soften the transition into a base of Virginia cedar, amber and patchouli, giving the fragrance a clean, understated finish.
